Session: The new digital divide (or…I don’t think that word means what you think it means :-)

Presenter: Stephanie Rieger
Room: 341
Time: 11:20 – 12:10; Saturday 11 September

While everyone is building web apps for the iPhone, iPad and Android, research indicates that only a third of mobiles sold in the industrialised world are smartphones. We are also seeing a dramatic rise in mobile internet use across all regions and demographics. This presentation will explore the current state of the mobile digital divide, what browsers and featurephones are in use around the world, and what you can expect when designing for the other 67% of the population.
