Session: Ubiquitous Android

This talk will take a user-centred perspective on the use of the Android platform to create mobile experiences that span many devices and interact with elements of the physical environment. Jamie will discuss the tools and technologies available to developers for creating novel user experiences, including Bluetooth, computer vision, NFC, ADK and C2DM.

Jamie McDonaldJamie recently graduated in Software Engineering at the University of Glasgow, where he worked on projects about novel UI for camera phones and optical recognition technologies on mobile devices. While at Uni he also participated in Google’s ‘Summer of Code’ to create the recently released MusicBrainz Android app. Jamie is now a developer at Novoda specialising in Android technology.
